Why we built ParkWhere SG

Drivers in Singapore routinely lose 10 to 20 minutes circling for a parking space, often discovering only on arrival that a carpark is full. The official data exists — the Land Transport Authority (LTA) publishes live carpark availability — but checking it usually means digging through a slow, cluttered app. We wanted something different: open the page, see the nearest carparks with free lots, tap to navigate. Decision made in seconds.

ParkWhere SG is that tool. It is independent, free to use, and works in any modern mobile browser with no installation, no account, and no sign-up.

What ParkWhere SG does

• Real-time carpark availability. We show HDB, LTA and URA carparks near you, sorted by distance, with the number of free lots colour-coded so you can read availability at a glance. Data refreshes automatically every minute.
• Parking rates. Where available, we display short-term parking rates so you can weigh cost against convenience before you drive.
• ERP rates & route planning. Plan a trip and see which Electronic Road Pricing gantries you'll pass and the likely charge at your chosen departure time — and whether leaving a little earlier or later would be cheaper.
• Live traffic cameras. Peek at LTA traffic camera images near your route to gauge congestion before you set off.
• EV charging stations. Find nearby electric-vehicle charging points and their connector details.

How it works

When you allow location access, your device shares approximate GPS coordinates with your browser. ParkWhere SG calculates the straight-line distance from you to every carpark using the Haversine formula, sorts the results, and shows the closest options with lots available. Tapping a carpark opens Google Maps directions. If you prefer not to share your location, you can search by area name or postal code instead.

All live data is fetched through our own lightweight backend, which keeps API keys secure and caches results briefly so the public open-data services aren't overloaded. Your coordinates are used only to compute results during your visit — see our Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Where our data comes from

We refresh our data frequently, but live information can lag real-world conditions and rate tables change. ParkWhere SG is a planning aid — always follow on-site signage and official sources for the final word.

ParkWhere SG is a privately built, independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the LTA, HDB, URA or the Government of Singapore. The Service is funded by unobtrusive advertising so that it can remain free for everyone.
